Great stay, really convenient to get to beaches and city would recommend as a great location. Close to Costco! House is very large could easily cater to a larger group if there were extra beds in office area. Lots of separate areas so would even work well as a work meeting space. Pull out bed is a stretcher (this isexplained in the listing) good to know it is probably best suited to a child or small adult. Safe space for children can shut gate and plenty of garden area to explore. Nice deck area to spend time with family/friends

Staying in a spacious home with beautiful surroundings was what we needed. Away from it all. Very peaceful and comfortable. Easy access from the city/airport close to the freeways and most amenities. Hosts were easy to liaise with via email/message on Airbnb portal. Highly recommended

Nice comfortable house and garden. Good large kitchen and lounge. Suitable for a group. The description was unclear about a key thing- it’s been corrected now. Refund was issued eventually.

Our family loved staying at the farm house. Everything we needed for a home away from home. Plenty of space, gorgeous gardens and the exercise equipment was a real bonus. The hosts were lovely! We would book again for sure.

Host was AMAZING!! always replied back, quick responses, cater to every need requested. The place was honestly beautiful, location wise was a bit far from family which was okay. However with the house and everything was beautiful & clean and was supplied with clean white towels & face wash towels as well. Definitely recommend if you are considering staying here!!

Lovely farmhouse in the country with beautiful gardens, yet not all that far from the shops and restaurants! Peaceful afternoons spent on the deck drinking tea and watching the bird wildlife are a part of our wonderful memories of this home.

Overall we had an okay stay but were left feeling underwhelmed and disappointed. It is a beautiful home with great bones... that also needs a lot of love. It's cosy and private. The gym is handy. The beds are okay (not great). The central wraparound kitchen is nice. The bifold windows and doors and other features are really cool. The lounge recliners are comfy. There is lots of space. On to the cons... Lack of cleanliness. Mould in laundry covering walls and big black circles on doors. On sills in every bedroom and throughout house in spots that cleaners have missed. In shower rubbers. In curtains. Loud dehumidifier running whole time, can't be turned off. Also musty and dusty - not great for allergies. Spiders and cobwebs, bathroom ceiling covered in gnats. Broken, uncared-for things all over. Windows dont latch tight, adding drafts and a lot of sound in. Jug boils indefinitely. Main shower doesnt work. Bathroom sink no hot water. Almost every pulley of gym was jammed, had to fix. Alarm clock with one leg, photo frame with no photo, butterfly with snapped wings, cabling falling out of walls, standing lounge lamp not wired. Gardens completely overgrown. Fence fallen down. Piece of toast, crumpet, length of bamboo, and deflated ball strewn across lawn for our visit. Had to fix fairy lights as they were low hanging. A bit strange and a general lack of care seen throughout. Despite being in the "country" it was really quite noisy and disturbing. 80kmh road with loud car and truck noise all day, whether outside or inside. Unfortunately not the peaceful retreat others have made it out to be.

Such a lovely place to stay. Was only three of us but would suit a family gathering for sure. Gardens are lovely although a little over grown. Given the weather had been terrible for weeks it was understandable. 2pm check in would be better as it would give you time to enjoy the place more. We had 2 dogs with us and the yard is safe and secure. Was great sitting on the deck watching them run around. It just needs knife sharpener and I'd be happy to stay for weeks. Thanks Eric and James. Cant wait to come back.

Was a nice place to stay, had everything we needed. Garden is in need of some TLC though. We didn’t have great weather and it took a long time to heat up the the rooms and house. There is a fireplace but no wood. Especially in winter some wood available for the first few days would be making a big difference, or mention in the description. Definitely recommended.

I am very satisfied with the whole house. There is a beautiful garden. Large enough space and a quiet environment. Let me get the physical and mental relaxation. However, I would like to make a few comments here. First, the time of check-in. I often live in Airbnb. This is the latest time for me to check in, because the time of check-in of the property is after 4 p.m. when I asked if I could check in earlier, the owner told me that I need to pay $50 for early check-in. This is the first time I have encountered this kind of situation, which makes me a little uncomfortable. Second, the house is old, and things in many places are broken. For example, the faucet in the kitchen is loose, and the toilet in the master bedroom is always running after flushing. This makes it inconvenient for me to use. Third, it is winter now, and it is raining when I live, so the room is very cold. Although there is a fireplace in the room, the owner does not provide relevant firewood and other things, so the fireplace can not be used, and only the electric heater in the room can be used. However, the room has a large space, and the electric heater can not solve the problem very well. Therefore, when I live, the cold in the room makes me uncomfortable. Fourth, the bedding looks very clean, but when I open the cup, I still find some dirty places. Therefore, I hope it can be improved. But I still recommend it. I will come back when I have a chance.

It isn't the flashest and the gardens aren't very well maintained but it was homely to me and my family. we were only staying one night but that turned into 4 nights and wished we didnt have to leave. the rooms are good size and the main has a nice big ensuite. lounge/dining is nice a big too. communication with host was good and they put up with my constant change of plans with no hesitation. I woke up each morning and extended our stay, I would of booked another few days if I could have, but it was booked out! location was my fav. it felt like I was at home out in the wopwops but town is just 5mins down the road compared to the 40mins I ACTUALLY have to drive from my home. loved every bit of it and will def be back. thank you! thank you! thank you!

We had a wonderful stay over the the Easter weekend. We were 5 adults - inter generational - my parents, my sister, her son and her 2yr old grandson. There are many hangout spaces to come together as a family and also chill out individually. The verandah is a real joy, walks through the garden to keep the young one entertained but also listen to my parents share their stories. If you are considering this for long stay - we were there for 5 nights - the kitchen is equipped to serve up good home cooking! We had good sleeps. Beds are comfortable. We did not try out the gym even though we had good intentions to do so 🙃 There is so much to love about this home. Our focus was to come together as a family after not being together for 2 years. this home played a part in helping us pick up again post pandemic and esp getting to know our newest addition to the family. Thank you Team Eric & Jason for sharing another of your homes with us. Very much appreciate the fast communication and clear instructions for check in/out.. Many thanks again Raijeli

Team EJ went out of their way to find us a place last minute with our dog in tow. Their communication was fast and helpful. The house was extremely clean and in was such a lovely setting. The gardens are over grown and but despite that, it really was a lovely place to stay, sitting on the deck at night was lovely. It was close to shops and some good places to eat. The Pizzeria in Kumeu is a must try and Juicy has the best fresh strawberry ice cream just minutes up the road. Thank you Team EJ for hosting us. You are top hosts.

The communication was super easy and quick and the place looks exactly like it does on the pictures. Large, comfortable space in a quiet spot - good for a peaceful getaway. Interior is clean, linen is good, furniture is comfortable - we appreciated the couch (not shown in pics) - and kitchen is well equipped. Covered verandah with hanging chair was a great spot to spend a relaxed summer day. We enjoyed our stay and would happily return. It should be noted though that this is an old house that has seen better days. We loved the character, and a bit of roughness didn’t bother us, but if you are expecting something different be aware. The garden clearly once was lovely, perhaps Japanese inspired, but like the house it is not being maintained. It’s a real shame and I hope one day the hosts can invest in returning it to its former glory - it would then be truly magical. But overall a lovely spot for a quiet break - close to Auckland city yet a peaceful country feel.

The house was charming, large, and looks great on the photos - however, on turning up our first impressions were not too good. We understand it was operating during a partial Auckland lockdown, however, the property grounds looked deserted with an overgrown lawn and driveway. On entering the house, it was dark and gloomy and we were instantly walking through cobwebs. The house was aesthetically clean, but with the musty smell and cobwebs and dust in places it felt like it had been deserted for months. The house has lots of potential, but there were no personal touches that one would expect in an Airbnb, especially one in this price bracket. There are hooks all over the walls where artwork/photos once were, but no more. In terms of comfort, again, nothing to write home about - small bed in the main bedroom and the place is hot, no ceiling fans/cooling. We requested to cut out 2-night stay short and made sure to leave the house as we found it leaving well prior to checkout, however, the hosts declined our request. We left nonetheless. I have never written an average review on Airbnb and am very understanding of people opening their homes for us, but in this case, it seems that this is an operation that 'manages' peoples home for them, but ultimately misses the opportunity to provide the personal touches that are synonymous with most Airbnb experiences. With a bit of care, this place could be amazing - just not on our visit.
