Positive: Good location for us. Parking a bonus. It was exactly what we needed for the week. A few steps away from a little shopping community. Negative: The entry was a bit dicy with it raining and it's was slippery. Asking to put rubbish out and take a photo was a bit bizarre never had to do that before.

Matariki stay Positive: Good location for what we needed. Easy access to main roads and the beach was a good walk. The house was compact and kitchen well resourced. Negative: It was very damp and the condensation was bad. Items that were broken and had been pointed out in earlier reviews weren't fixed. Not enough blankets provided for winter season. The ants were an ongoing problem throughout the stay.

Stay Away Unless You’re Filming a Horror Movie We booked this place for a longer stay while relocating, thinking it looked like a clean, comfy home with a work-from-home setup. In reality, it was more of a damp, drafty disaster with a garage "office" that doubled as a walk-in fridge and felt like it might collapse if you sneezed too hard. First night, we went looking for an extra blanket and found… a bloodstained duvet. Yes, really. The beds were sad, the linens suspect, and we ended up hauling everything to the laundromat ourselves. Over our (shortened) stay, we endured a leaking toilet, no hot water, and the kind of host responses you'd expect from someone trying to ghost you on a dating app. Their fix for the toilet leak? “Open a window.” Their fix for the cold water? “Leave the tap running.” Their fix for anything else? Radio silence. Only when when Airbnb got involved did anything start happening — including partial refunds and some long-overdue repairs.

My partner and I stayed here for eight nights, and it was a nightmare. The room was filthy, with spider webs, thick dust on surfaces, and hair found here and there on floor. The bathroom had mold on the ceiling, rusty toilet brush was unusable. The washing machine was too dirty to use. Outside, the backyard was neglected, with leaves scattered around, furniture covered in dust, bird droppings, and used food containers under the table. On our first night, the electric stove short-circuited, scaring my partner. The host provided a temporary hot plate, but it was difficult to use, so we couldn’t cook for three days. The bed was uncomfortable, sagging in the middle, and the dusty pillows caused stuffy noses and my partner’s sinus problems. A property manager visited midway, promised to resolve these issues, but never followed up. Despite multiple requests, our refund messages were ignored. This was the worst stay we’ve ever had in Airbnb, Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place.

It was good. But it could have been better if the heat pump was working. Positive: The place was really good. We were happy about it. Negative: The heat pump stopped working after 2 days of our stay. We encountered few cockroaches in the premise.

the cleaning fee was ridiculous as the place had lots of spiderwebs and it's not nearly big enough that it would cost that much to clean. lots of marks on walls, no doormats so when it rains there is always water/mud by front door. carport full of clutter and only suitable for small car. has been painted but bathrooms need renovating. oven is very noisy and the cooking utensils are all in bad condition. location was good and it was warm enough but the photos are very deceptive. felt like it was run by a corporation.

The location was 20m from the shops, 5 mins from the beach, without a doubt the best air bnb I have ever stayed in. This house is a nightmare for me. It’s small old and dirty. And especially the host keeps giving excuses and refuse to refund. Even he sent cleaning team but the cleaner said it’s too old and could make it better. The piont is it’s very expensive compared with other houses in the same area with two bed rooms and such a small one. The house make my family depressed and I spend whole week clean and communicate with the host team. Not only waste my money but also waste of my time!

We stayed here for nearly 2 weeks when we were between long term rentals and it was great. Clean, quiet and everything you need, including for our 3 month old baby. Close to shops, cafes and a short drive to both local beaches and the CBD.

Peaceful area in the shore and the interior design was beautifully done. However, some light bulbs are out and need replacing, blinds in the master bedroom are broken and can’t close, few areas need a little extra attention in cleaning, steep entry/driveway not mentioned or photographed (not great for those that have any trouble walking or physical disability). Overall, the airbnb is an okay place to stay for 1 or 2 nights. The location is handy as shops are just round the corner and a shopping mall is close by for rainy days, definitely a nice area and responsive hosts but personally would not stay again. Very nice place for a small family or just a couple. could do with some extra wine glasses. A washing line would be handy & some pegs. The drying rack was quite painful to use with the weather. Half the light bulbs need replacing & no lights at all working in the garage. The master bedroom needs an air con unit. The shops around the corner are very handy for anything you need. The coffee shop is excellent. Over all I really enjoyed staying there & would return.

Wonderful to find a stand alone home in a great location on the shore. Loved walking to the coffee shop in the mornings and having a variety of takeaways close by. Parking wasn’t great as couldn’t park our SUV down the driveway which meant we had to park on the road which was hard when unloading a baby and toddler. Really appreciated the toys 🧸 definitely made our time there a lot easier with little ones. Host was quick to respond, which was really helpful.

Ideal house for staying with young children. The playroom was really impressive with lots of toys that entertained our kids for hours. Good location next to shops and restaurants. This was our second consecutive stay at this place, so we clearly liked it. Unit was immaculately clean with everything you need. Shops were just around the corner - less than a minute walk. Team EJ tried their best to address any issues we had with the unit/ amenities.

This info need to be add to the listing: - your car can not enter the garage - you also can not park in front of the garage either because that will be someone else driveway. - street parking only - not suitable for people with mobility problems (35-40 degree angle from the street) - very limited laundry detergent & coffee (bring your own ! Any questions about this will not be entertain ! ) - you will expected to give 5* in all categories!! if not We will be penalized by the Airbnb 😂😂 This is the chat quotation from the host : “Sadly Airbnb actually penalises host if any part of the review is lower than 5-stars so an all category 5-star review really goes a long way and we’d be extremely grateful as this will help our little Airbnb business a lot.”

Really enjoyed our stay here and the location felt really good for being within 10 minutes of most things. the shops just around the corner were great for a quick coffee or bite to eat. Parking in the garage was nice but - wow - get your car manoeuvering skills ready as the steep narrow drive requires some hold your breath reversing to get in there in a bigger car. Also a note for families that one room is upstairs and the other is downstairs - our kids didn't mind and it gave us a heads up before they snuck into our room in the morning.

Well priced. Great location close to Northcross shops for easy access to groceries, coffee shop with great breakfast and bakery. Sleeps four really well and can accommodate six. We have four young children and worked well for the six of us.

We liked it very much. Only drawback was that we hadn’t managed to understand clearly the number of beds and what counted as beds. Could’ve been presented a bit better. But it was sorted out.

The hosts started off really well with prompt replies and booking acceptance but then as soon as the main bed broke in half on our first night due to been poorly put together, it all went down hill from there. We can’t believe we had no other choice but to sleep on the floor for 2 nights due to the hosts not responding until late on the second night. On top of this the house was extremely noisy and the surrounds lacked maintenance. Luckily for Airbnb support and cover, as the hosts did not do anything to compensate what we went endured. This is the worst Airbnb experience we have had.

Thanks Team EJ for being so responsive and accomodating our family get away. Great accomodation clean, modern decor, lovely kitchen, had everything we needed. Awesome location close to shops, mall, beaches everything. Yet still quiet, and private highly recommend Team EJ places Thank you from our family we really enjoyed the experience.

The house was perfect for our family, absolutely everything was in it, even toys and books for children of different ages! The house is perfectly located, close to the beach, cafes, playgrounds! The owner is quick to respond and answer questions! huge thanks to the team! We had a great time in this house!
