Insufficient heating facilities hence the rooms were very cold and the water heater broke and did not get replaced during the stay. However the team managing the unit helped as much as they could to make our stay comfortable. But the place needs work to make stays comfortable during winter.

Overall was great for the price especially during school holiday. Nothing to complaint about really. Checking in was easy. It offered basically everything we need, and was tidy enough. There might be some opportunities to improve though if host would like to offer better exprience: - simple breakfast will be helpful like 2L milk, some butter and toasts, - more tea towels, tissues, and basic seasonings and cooking utensils in kitchen will definitely make life easier - 2 curtains and one seat are having wear and tear due to age I guess. Will be great if fixed. - water pressure from shower is not enough but that seems a common issue with old houses everywhere. Generally speaking I appreciate there is a place like this to choose from.

This place was great for the price and location. The neighbors were so very nice and communication with the air bnb hosts was 10/10. The only thing was there was no mirror and some of the outlets in the air bnb did not work. Otherwise, once you plug the appliances into the other outlets, it worked. Thanks so much!

At first, we requested whether we can do early check in, Host replied that previous customer gonna checkout at 10am and cleaners will clean afterward, they will inform when the house is ready. Unfortunately, there was no update regarding the request. We checked in as the checkin timing, which is 3pm. When we arrived at the house, the floor was so dusty, the sofa was very dirty, there was shoeprint on the floor. We informed the host; host responded by sending a cleaner. While we waiting, we swept the floor and cleaned the sofa. We appreciate the response from the host, however this situation wasted our time. We were so tired when we arrived but we still have to clean the house and waited for the cleaning team to come and clean the house. Basic amenities insufficient, such as toiletries considering we stay for four days. There is no proper size mirror for the whole house, they only provide 1 table mirror 20x20cm. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Great location and responsive host

Thanks for the stay! As this is an upstairs unit with others below you, I would not recommend this place for families with children that run around as we unfortunately disturbed the below neighbours. Good Location, very old fixtures and fittings. cold. No power supply while i am writing this too and power supply fluctuates. When i asked them to fix it. They told me to switch off the appliances. I asked them How can live in the cold and the dark in this property. A Guest from Melbourne and down south of NZ with kids vacated the property from upstairs and downstairs the same day . The ongoing power supply interruptions are not fixed I am moving out of the house. EJ are nice people, they have to fix this issues as soon as possible. i trust they wii fix it and make their guests to stay happly. All the best

Never take things at face value in this property. While the chairs look comfy the recliner function is broken. Tv kept resetting while trying to login to apps. Shower pressure is terrible. Mould on bathroom roof. Window latches don’t work properly so when the wind blew so did the windows. Only 1 mirror. Large gaps under doors. Luckily we were often out and about. The one good factor was the beds were comfy. If you want to relax at home, book elsewhere.

You have to keep your expectations realistic for the price you are paying for this 3 bedroom suite (upper level). If you just looking for a clean enough place to sleep and shower, in a central part of Auckland, then this place is just that… good enough. The couch, blinds and dining chairs are derelict and should of been replaced a long time ago. Also as another patron pointed out, I felt sorry for the guests staying below us. I have young children that are often out of control compounded by an early checkout at 6am. An overwhelming sense of guilt besets us, but nothing much we could do really. In retrospect, I would have picked a place where there is no co-habitation.

We enjoyed our stay here and the hosts were really responsive and helpful. The house is as presented in the listing. There is an Airbnb downstairs too - this wasn’t a problem at all and would be perfect for a large group using both spaces, but the walls are thin and I imagine whoever was down there heard our kids more than they would have liked. But we were happy upstairs and would have liked to stay for longer :)

Home that you share with other renters including sharing the washing machine. There was no dryer. The location to the freeway can be a bit noisy for the upstairs tenants. The bathroom/shower layout was unique. If you are looking for a home to relax at and hangout, this might not be the right property for you.

We may have no control over our neighbours' pets but we could have requested them to move the pets away for the time. Great value for money. If you're looking for the Hilton, go to the Hilton. If you're looking for a home-away-from-home, then this place is great. You get the full suburbia experience, which is what I wanted for my family of six. Short drive to supermarket and eateries. The hosts were great and responded to queries promptly. Overall the place served its purpose for us. Cleanliness wasn't the best, floors being hardwood floors needed a good clean and the house was a bit dusty. Also unfortunately mould in bathroom on ceiling. They were great hosts, with great communication. The place just needs clearer information on that there is a unit below this one. It was in the ad but not as clear as I think it can be. We had young children with us and probably would not have booked here knowing someone was staying below.

Dirty broken furniture, dirty walls with splashs of goodness knows what on them, dirty windowsills, paint left on the dirty windows,, broken blinds and people living below?? cooking fish!! the place stank of fish. Oh, and we had to do our own dishes!!!! why??? I’ve never heard that before!! Do you realise how disgusting that is?? we don’t know the previous people’s cleanliness?? The whole place is revolving and I’m angry at the wast of money.

We had ants and bugs in the kitchen and a roach in the bathroom. No cleaning products for the bathroom and toilet. No water pressure in the shower. Extreme noise from neighborhood. Furniture and kitchen utensils very worn. No linen to change. Drying rack broken and hardly usable. Almost all windows are broken and cannot be closed properly. Too expensive for what is offered. The problem with the noisy neighborhood was noticed particularly negatively. Either dogs barking from the neighbor's 3 dogs, loud repetitive roaring of car engines because the neighbor has to test the engines of his 5 or 6 old cars every evening. And the worst thing is when someone is in the apartment below. Doors were repeatedly slammed in the middle of the night and it sounded as if someone was moving furniture or there were 2 people in the hallway who were talking loudly at 3 a.m. Absolutely dreadful especially when there with 3 small children trying to sleep. The apartment is suitable for students who want to party, as you can hardly break anything and high volume and reckless behavior fit very well with the neighborhood. On the first evening we were greeted through the kitchen window by our naked neighbor who had just come out of his shower. Like I said, not good enough for the price. 5 star ratings for this property are incomprehensible to me.

The fan heater is too noisy for sleeping. I turned it off and it’s too cold for me to sleep. I told the host about the issue on the second day early morning but they didn’t really take it seriously until they finally sent another heater on the third night. I stayed for three nights and only got a good sleep for one night. So ask them about the heater before booking with them. Low water flow rate in shower.

I wouldn’t stay with a Team EJ property again. Communication was often difficult and frustrating, such as when I realized I had made a mistake with the booking and was not even able to speak to a manager (Eric or Jason). Two evenings in a row I was told they would get back to me in the morning during business hours, and never heard from them and had to call myself and start over with the front desk people. It seemed as if the front desk people did not inform each other, because I always had to start over with my story. It felt like I was dealing with an automated system. Eventually I gave up on rectifying my mistake. The place was not very clean when I arrived a day before my parents. Cobwebs in corners, a clump of hair in the bottom of the shower, quite a bit of dust, the bathroom mirror was filthy, and the laundry room was full of spiders. Several days after we’d been here, Team EJ messaged to offer an additional clean midway through our long term stay for a fee, which I found a bit amusing. We were also told there would be heaters in the house and there were none. Thankfully they dropped some off for us after I messaged them. The wifi went out one day and we learned that the router is in the downstairs unit, so a time had to be coordinated with the downstairs guests in order to fix it. Again I was told they’d get back to me the next day, but they didn’t. I had to send another message asking about the situation. When I first had to flip a breaker switch for the kitchen outlets, Team EJ guided me to the switchboard and told me Flat 2, which turned out to be the downstairs unit. I turned off their electricity and that’s how we learned I was in Flat 1. It’s an old home, so expect thin walls (we could hear often hear neighbors and the downstairs guests, and I’m sure they could hear us) some of the windows don’t open and close properly, and the shower goes from boiling hot directly to cold. For a short-term stay these things wouldn’t bother me, and I recognize that they are not Team EJ’s fault. It was the poor communication and service that turned me off. They usually responded quickly, but it was rarely helpful.

We are currently staying in the downstairs flat and booked upstairs for family just for one night. Hosts are great, accomodating and answered every query I had/offered solutions easily. The property itself needs a slight spruce up as far as gardens/lawns go but other than that no problems. Thank you

Communication was very poor. Tried to get help with issues on the first night and was rejected as no one could help and was hung up on. You guys didn’t contact me back till 3 days later and from the first day I had been in communication with air b&b services. Even they couldn’t get a hold of you. No hot water in first night House smelt like fresh paint had to open all windows to freshen the house Toilet was small there’s a wood thing in it which doesn’t help with trying to squeeze in and shutting door Beds and pillows were comfy Shower was very slow to warm up and slow coming out of shower head Wifi stopped on 2nd to last day had to wait all day for someone to come fix No privacy as there are no jet curtains you can see into next doors windows and out on main road
