A really spacious and beautifully decorated apartment, but overall an awful customer experience Positive: The apartment is as new, very spacious and beautifully decorated. The photos are an accurate reflection of the apartment. It is in a quiet residential street, and the parking is right beside the stairs leading down to the apartment. However, the apartment had a dreadful smell to it, which was particularly noticable when we first arrived, and even more so after returning after a full day out. It was the reek of dampness, and very unpleasant. When we got home each evening, and in the mornings, we had to open the doors wide to try and get fresh air through to mitigate the smell. This was not great given it was winter and very cold outside. Negative: This property is managed through a property management company rather than by the owner who lives in the upstairs of the house. I didn't realise this when I booked. Within a minute after booking on Booking,com I was sent a link via the Booking.com messaging service. I am a very experienced Booking.com user (200+ bookings) and I had never seen anything like it. The form that the link required to be filled out asked a lot of detailed questions about why you wanted to stay there, would anyone be visiting you, what was the reason for your visit to Auckland and several more questions. It then wanted a copy of the front and back of your driver's license and a selfie to confirm your identity. The last page wanted your credit card details. I felt extremely uncomfortable providing all this information, and wondered if I was being scammed or my identity stolen. When I pushed back and asked why this information was needed I received a prompt waffly response, in essence telling me if was for my own security. Unfortunately because I had already paid for the accommodation I felt trapped, and ended up providing it. It was an experience I would definitely not want to go through again. Another aspect of this property being "managed" is that you received so many instructions and "do's and don'ts". Whilst the instructions for getting in were really nice and clear, I found the extent of communications to be totally overkill. Do you really need a reminder that you are leaving tomorrow and lots of instructions on all the jobs you must do before you leave? Do you really need a message on the day telling you to message them as soon as you leave as the cleaners are ready to move in? Do you really need to have to send them a photo to prove that you have put the keys back in the lock box?

A tranquil and lovely modern home. We loved the trees and native birds by the deck. It was comfortable and spacious inside. Though there are occupants upstairs, they were quiet and we could hardly tell they were there. Thank you kindly for a lovely stay, we appreciated it.

The landlord is easy to communicate with, the house has high privacy, however, you have to take few stairs to enter. The indoor space is very large.

Apartment was easy to find & spacious with generally good amenities. However despite the premium look of the photos the kitchen area was below par for a longer stay. Insufficient cooking equipment to make a meal e.g only one serving bowl, electric hob was slow and unresponsive fine for a couple of nights or if you intend to eat takeout but not if you desire to cook a decent meal in the property. In addition some obvious corners cut with fittings, garden furniture was old and worn, some crockery mismatching and chipped and TV repaired with sticky tape etc. Heating was limited to two small oil fin heaters which were not sufficient for the space. It would benefit from a central heating system/ducts that could be controlled within the property. From a positive perspective the bathroom was great and bedrooms clean and comfortable with good quality bed linen however this to be expected with a $250 cleaning fee. With a few improvements this place could be as premium as advertised

Great place tucked away in a quiet neighborhood in North Auckland. The accomodation is very clean and looks like new. Great footpaths for afternoon walks with minimal traffic so it feels safe. Westfield Albany and other shopping areas are a short drive away (~10mins). I would recommend this place to others.

I do not recommend booking this property. The manager, The Stay Hub, has a cumbersome and time-wasting booking process involving sending photos of person booking and credit card plus proof of payment. Takes ages to complete. They also said we damaged one of the blinds which we noticed was already damaged but presumed they knew. Lost the damage bond. Could be a hoax. No heating for a cold apartment on bottom story of house and no TV reception

Great place to stay will definitelystay again. Just one important thing it was very hard to locate both us and uber drivers and everyone else who visited. May suggest to say turn into the driveway for 100 as 106 is off the same driveway. Also may suggest to put in proper heating, some serving dish and bigger coffee mugs. Thank you..

This is the lower ground floor of a house where there are about 8 steps down from the driveway to the entrance. The premises are spacious, nicely-decorated and everything is in very good condition. A guest manual, more kitchen utensils and clothes hanger would make the premises more user friendly.

My partner and I stayed here for 5 nights and it was fabulous! Such a gorgeous apartment with lots of space. The outside deck area is so lovely - really enjoyed my morning cuppa in the peace and quiet. Very easy check in, clear instructions and the place was super clean. We both didn’t want to leave and will definitely stay again in the future. Honesty could not fault at all 😊

Excellent property for our 3 day business trip. Has everything needed and is very well presented. Communication is excellent. Wifi is not the best (not the hosts fault) so if this is critical to you, perhaps come prepared with your own data options (as we did). Highly recommended property.
