Few maintenance issues that need addressing and some communication around the Construction happening next door would’ve been good.

Positives - can view the sunsets, handy to locations we wanted to go to, plenty of parking, roomy lounge. Negatives - very old microwave, was unusable, sparked when pushed start. There were exposed metal edges inside the microwave. One plug socket didn't work. Minimal utensils e.g. no tongs, only one bowl, an ice tray would be handy. Not enough coffee sachets for 6 people for 4 days. Need extra blankets for the cold weather OR make the beds up with the electric blankets. Outside sensor light malfunctioning. Continuously flicked off and on (nothing setting it off, was constantly off and on). Main shower head had to be hand held, nothing to hang it on. Outside first impressions, long grass, generally looks unkept. One of the duvet inners had blood stains on it. Also worth noting too, the balcony railings seem too low especially for a high balcony, might not be to current regulations, H&S concern. Doesn't feel good having to write this bad review but not good when paying money for it.

house was clean, sheets and linens had stains on them. the bathroom in the hallway had a shower attachment that didnt have anywhere to hold the shower head handle so that was odd. the house is an old, all wood house so when it rains + is stormy you hear everything at night. shower door in master bathroom doest shut all the way so it makes a mess with water. I feel like its just an old house that needs amenities that are upgraded and for that reason I feel like I paid more than I should have especially because those things - like clean sheets, and a shower that works and isnt messy is what is most important!

It was located in a quiet place with nice view, easy access to motorways, and the space was spacious, so it was good for the a family with kids. There was a power outage during my stay due to heavy rain, but the response was quick and problem solved easilly.

Beautiful place. It had easy access to the motorway. The home was very noisy with the wood settling and creaking all night. It was a little hard to sleep... but we got used to the charm.

Superb location Positive: The location was superb and the shopping area was just a short walk away. It is a very well-managed property and they put a lot of effort into ensuring everything is available for the visitors. Negative: The house makes a lot of cracking noises and it can be very annoying and uncomfortable if you are a light sleeper.

Hidden Gem was a good place to stay for my teammates and I while we were competing in a tournament at North Harbour Hockey Club. It was an easy 7-10 minute drive. The house has a great water view and the location was peaceful and quiet but walkable to several restaurants and small stores. The house and furnishings are rustic but comfortable. Because of the wood and tin roof it does crack and pop at times, but that is all part of the rustic charm.

The house is amazing value for your money. It is spacious and comfortable, with an amazing view. The neighbourhood is peaceful and quiet, but just a short drive to shops. We enjoyed our 3-week stay at the house. The negatives are not a lot, but there are: Creaking house - not a problem and we did not mind, but the wood expands and contracts with the fluctuations in the temperature (totally normal, obviously). Just be aware of it, if you are a very light sleeper. A bit dusty and the oven was not cleaned properly. It is minor, but it is worth mentioning. All in all, we'll easily recommend the house for a few days' stay. You'll struggle to get better value for your money in Auckland! Lastly, I give a big thanks for the amazing communication from the hosts. They were extremely responsive and helpful.
