It’s small and fine but old and needs maintenance - not enough stuff in kitchen, leaking toilet and mouldy armchair and just generally worn. It could be great, it just needs some love.

Pretty solid spot in a nice location near Auckland CBD. Right on the bus line to downtown. Some of the small appliances/kitchen utensils need to be updated, but no major complaints.

I had a fantastic stay at this lovely Airbnb in Grey Lynn. The place was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The neighborhood is peaceful yet conveniently close to great cafes, restaurants, and public transport. We are dealing with 2 corporations, you n them . Positive: Location Negative: No staff available, they only chat on e mails no action for request of maintenance. No respect of privacy by sending gardeners to mow lawn early morning without prior notice. Given misled address , our rental is only an extension of a house not the main house itself, yet they use the house number to advertise, in fact its an annex . Its false advertising!

Good place to stay for a concert Positive: Even though it was small it was a nice shared space for 4, light and airy, while still being private. Good access to public transport and an easy Uber to Eden Park, CBD and outlet shopping. Very responsive hosts who helped me out quickly. Negative: We enjoyed our stay but it wasn’t quite as I expected. There was no dishwasher - perhaps I misread that, the tv had no access to viewing platforms. Appliances like heating and tv need a manual so we can sort it ourselves. The shower was low pressure, and there was limited bedding/ linen. However, these little things didn’t detract from a pleasant stay and I appreciate the efforts the responsiveness of the hosts. With just a couple of small fixes it is very reasonably priced accommodation for a city stay.

Felt really comfortable in the house. Great location. Positive: Everything was great Negative: Parking is not so great. Our truck was broken into. The closest lock up parking is about 2ks away. I would recommend to park at a Wilson car park and Uber to the house. You have to park in the bus lane so need to move before 7am. Great place though if you are catching Ubers

A really central place to stay, so easy to get from here to the CBD under 10 minutes which is very rare in Auckland. The hosts were really great at communicating with me and I found the whole experience really enjoyable

Great place to explore Auckland from. Lots of amazing vegan bakeries, cafe and restaurants near by which was fantastic for us and a real bonus. The place is as described and great base to explore the city but also relax and have some alone time.

This place is a great find, private clean and has everything you need. Has a great location next to a number of shops, and everything you would need at easy confidence. I ended up staying here a lot longer than planned, and it became home for me for a couple of months. I have stayed in a number of Airbnbs around New Zealand for both travel and business, and this was one of the best places and experiences. Top marks, and very much recommended

One hour before we were due to move into apartment, we were called by team Ej to tell us fridge was broken and would not be replaced for three days. After many requests they provided a cool box to keep milk fresh. But communication was poor over the issue. Did not answer phone and texted to say they ‘had issues’ getting delivery of fridge Apartment is in a good location but access is up several steps. Not well lit after dark so challenging Would not stay there again

Had an amazing stay at Eric and Jason’s place for 8 nights while visiting Auckland. The place was comfortable, cozy and convenient. Check in and check out was straight forward and stress free. Great location. Was exactly what we were hoping to find within walking distance of Western Springs for the Pasifika festival. Bonus to have so many eating and shopping options also within walking distance. We especially loved our breakfast each morning at the Urban Jungle! Also took full advantage of the nearby bus stop to go to the Auckland Museum and downtown / waterfront area as well. Everything within the cottage was as expected.

This spacious one bedroom cottage was such an awesome find! Private with a cute deck and garden. Home decoration was lovely and homey. Would definitely stay here again. Ample linen/towels. I only wish we had more time to spend at the place but we were on a busy schedule. Communication with host was clear and prompt. Location was the best, close to everything and everywhere we needed to go. Only downside is we booked on a weekend there was a concert at western springs which we couldn’t access any on street parking and lots of traffic but of course this is out of the hosts control. Just be mindful of events/concerts in that area, but it’s the perfect place if you are attending an event at Western Springs though! Overall, really happy with the stay :)

The property overall was everything I needed. The best thing about it was the location. Although there was no car parking available, you didn't need a vehicle as public transport was at your doorstep. The hosts were always quick to respond to any queries I had aswell which was good. Overall it was perfect for us. The one negative I would say, were the neighbours, who were quite loud during the 4 nights we stayed. There was a loud party, and loud arguments aswell which was unsettling.

Nice stay at EJ’s. Just be mindful that if you have a car, there are bus lanes on the road so you’re required to move your car from one side of the street to the other to avoid specified bus lane hours, but we didn’t have a hard time with it. Great lil cosy home close to Western Springs Positive: This was close to Western Springs for our annual concert so location was key. Was very cosy and felt very much like home. Lovely outdoor area to relax and have dinner with a glass of wine, a bbq would have been a great addition. My sister thought the queen bed in the room was very comfortable, although it 'squeeked' when trying to get comfortable. Overall with a few minor touch ups this place would be really amazing. I would definitely return if a few small things were fixed. Negative: Only a few minor things to note, place was mostly clean other than cobwebs on the corners of the ceilings and dust under the crockery cabinet which we could all see when we sat down to watch tv. The fold out couch will need replacing soon as it is very flimsy and not functional. Would have been nice to have dishwashing liquid and scruber so we could have cleaned our dishes. Some pegs to hang our washing out would have been good.

I booked this through Bookabach with whom I agreed to their T&Cs. However after my payment had been taken (and given directly to The Stay Hub (host company), not Bookabach who I thought I was paying), I then had to agree to the T&Cs of The Stay Hub before I could continue with the booking. They asked for extremely intrusive verification details (which could easily be used as a scam) and I will not be using them again. More transparency is needed within Bookabach so customers are fully informed BEFORE they make payment as I would never had agreed to this! Accommodation was OK but the booking process was very disappointing, totally unnecessary and unethical.

A cosy little one bedroom place with a seperate kitchen/ living area. Heat pump in living room and oil heater in the bedroom made this a warm cosy stay. Lovely linen & towels. Spacious bathroom with good pressure in shower. This unit is set off the street, up a little path, which made it nice and quiet. Easy access, with a 3pm check in time.

Lovely spot with great shops just a few minutes up the hill and really clean and quiet. HOWEVER it’s on a clearway with no off street parking so you can’t leave your car. The side the house is on is a clearway 7-10am Mon-Fri, the other side is 4-7pm. The garden out the back is a beautiful. The Zoo and Motat are really close and both with a visit.

A pleasant and comfortable space in a very convenient location. Private and quiet area with great access to amenities and transport options. The host's communication was excellent throughout our stay, they were attentive and offered plenty of advice to make the most out of our trip. Highly recommended to anyone, thanks very much!

A disappointing stay, which is a first for us, and we recommend caution when booking for the below reasons. The small flat is located behind a student party house that went off the first night of our stay, recommend avoiding the place on weekends or entirely if you have children. The house was in dire need of a clean, the floor had bunches of long hairs all over it (I'm assuming from a previous guest) and everything was just dusty and not well kept. The bed creaks at every movement, maybe that's your thing but be prepared for a rough nights sleep. There is good air conditioning which helped with the heat, one of the few positives. The communication of the host was the most infuriating part of the whole process. Because we have a 6 month old and the partying neighbours kept us up all night with him we asked for a refund. It took a long time to respond to our request and they did so by offering us a quieter air bnb of theirs in the city which honestly would have been great - so we accepted and didn't hear back. We packed up and headed into the city to make the most of our trip while we waited for the new place to be ready. Hours upon hours later where we were getting sick of waiting around we got a message saying we can't stay on the place and that they hope we have a good night's sleep at the old place, completely ignoring the refund request. Just infantile customer service to be honest, we have yet to be really let down by an air bnb and this is one. It's great to see so many people have good reviews of this place and maybe their experience was different but I would really exercise caution when booking - and maybe bring a vacuum cleaner.

Please know that we take feedback seriously as we wanted to make sure we deliver an exceptional service to every guest's stay. We honestly have not received any noise complaints about the entire time we are hosting this home, and previous reviews can prove this. We have also asked where the noise is exactly coming from as this is very unusual. We immediately asked for photos but were not given but we immediately addressed your concern by moving you to one of our homes. Unfortunately, we did not receive a response right away thus the house is already booked. We also have in-house professional cleaners who have been working hard to make sure that all our homes are squeaky clean - floors are vacuumed, then wet mopped, then lint rollered to find any stray hairs. We hope to have you back in the future for a better stay. Stay safe!

Sweet little spot in Grey Lynn that is also close enough to walk into Ponsonby! We loved this little cottage and the convenient location. The backyard is easy to enjoy in any weather with a covered porch and lovely garden to look at. The bed was comfortable and cozy and as others have mentioned, you do not hear much noise from the traffic on the road. All in all, a great find near the city!

Nestled away at the rear is this awesome little hideaway space complete with backyard, a real backyard, with grass, right in the Heart of Grey Lynn and all that surrounds. Such a great little spot, really enjoyed my short restful stay, it was needed. ;-)

We absolutely loved our stay at Grey Lynn Cottage! It's a lovely, private little home tucked behind two residential homes, with a small deck and garden at the back. It's location is excellent! We could access the variety of small restaurants and cafes just 4 minutes walk up the road. (We love Tiger Burger and Wise Boys!). The Grey Lynn Countdown is also only a few minutes drive away. Western Springs park and MOTAT are also very easy to get to by car. CBD could be accessed if you travel on one of the buses going along the main road where the cottage is located. Our hosts, Eric & Jason, were great with prompt and informative responses. We had no problem with roadside parking rules as these were clearly explained in the Check-in instructions, as well as the reminder our hosts sent us before we checked in. The accommodation was spotless. I really liked the look and feel of vintage dresser/writing table in the master bedroom! Since we stayed here in the middle of winter, keeping warm was a concern. But the place has a good heat pump/ air conditioner in the living room and a heater in the bedroom. We were provided with a warm, heavy maroon blanket too in case the heater was not enough, and another set of linen and towels since we stayed for more than a week. Overall, I would highly recommend this beautiful, private and cozy home as a place to stay while in Auckland. It's close enough to the city, but not too close, and it can be a great home base while exploring the wider Auckland region since it's nearby the SH16 motorway (heading to west Auckland).

Stayed at this property for 6 nights and extended to ten nights. Very easy communication through bookabach ap with landlord with prompt reply when our situation changed due to covid lockdowns. The accommodation was very spacious for one bedroom, the trundle Bed was fantastic for our little girls and the fact that there was washing machine with clothes horse was great! It is totally private (which I didn’t expect) with its own cute little well maintained yard that felt extremely safe and well away from the Main Street. Their were only two items that I could critique- that is, I could not find the kitchen sink plug and a few extra blankets need to be kept on site for colder nights. All in all, for the price, it is extremely good value and I would definitely stay again :)

be careful of this host. No respect to privacy, if you sometimes wonder if an airbnb place has a hidden camera in your bedroom spying on you, the rest assured Eric and Jason are doing that. The story is long but basically be careful of Eric and Jason, they record phone conversations without even asking for your consent. Slimy people that will be served justice. The snoops been inside my apartment without asking my permission and had packed all my belongings and had put all my identity critical documents in a folder for me. Anyone can just take photos and hijack my identity, I mean everything from passport to birth certificate, you name it. They sent me a trespass notice at 6 pm in which they gave me a warning to leave like three hours before. I had stayed at the place for two nights and had an. Emergency that day that the only practical thing to do at the time was send them message saying hey guys I'm. Interested in staying longer. I requested give me time till I m free just after 5. They wanted me to do the booking like a new booking (extra cleaning fee). Why couldn't they just request the money ? So anyway then I become free and was shocked that they had gone to the place and been thru and packed all my belongings and put out side in the rain and had called the police and sent me a trespass notice!!! Now the beauty is the trespass is actually to the wrong person. They had trespassed the wrong person who isn't actually in the country. This incident needs to be taken serious, how can Jason and Eric prove that no one stole my information. Now this makes it a breach of the privacy act 2020, and authority mist be informed .

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay at Eric's place.A cosy,sunny and quiet private enclave set back from Gt North Rd.The veranda/deck accessed through french doors off the lounge and overlooking a lawn and garden getting all day sun added to the sense of space and calm. Easy access to the city by car and convenience store shopping and coffee and food outlets within easy walking (100 metres). Off street parking not an issue and bus lane rules easy to adapt to. Access up a path to the cottage between 2 houses a bit of a challenge initially with luggage but from then on not an issue. Water pressure in shower and lack of fan extractor over stove are only detractions from an otherwise lovely well appointed cottage for 2 people.

This place is like a surprising little bach in the middle of the city! It’s right at the top of the hill by Surrey Cres and tucked into a lovely garden. I’d recommend it for anyone who wants a little private space in the big city!

Excellent location, cute little cottage. The place is up a long uphill pathway so bring muscle if you have suitcases. Parking is off street on a main road with clear-ways on both sides (so be prepared to be towed if you forget to move your car). Shower pressure needs to be looked at, felt like a light auckland drizzle, left wanting more. Dishwasher would have been nice considering the price per night. Lovely area out the back that catches the afternoon sun.

Negative: Nachdem wir gebucht und die Miete vollständig bezahlt hatten, mussten wir verschiedene sensible Dokumente, Kreditkartendaten, Kontoauszug und Fotos einreichen. Es wurden dann wiederholt weitere Dokumente angefordert, teilweise auch solche, die wir bereits eingereicht hatten. Die Check-in-Informationen wurden absprachewidrig erst kurz vor Mietbeginn übersandt. Während der Mietdauer wurden wir aufgefordert, das Apartment vor um 10 Uhr zu verlassen, obwohl wir bis zum Folgetag gemietet hatten. Am letzten Tag wurden wir um 5:40 Uhr in der Früh von den Folgemietern geweckt, die beim Vermieter angefragt hatten, ob sie früher einchecken können, jedoch keine Antwort erhalten hatten. Abschließend wurden wir noch um eine 10er Bewertung gebeten. Der Vermieter blieb wohlweislich die ganze Zeit anonym. Das Apartment selbst ist in Ordnung (7/10), wenn man von der teils stark abgenutzten Einrichtung (z.B. völlig durchgesessenes Sofa) und den Löchern in der Wand absieht.
